Less+More
Date: 2002
Authors: Renny Ramakers, Ed van Hinte (editor)
Graphic design: Thonik
Publisher: 010 Publishers, Rotterdam
The book Less+More, Droog Design in context was presented during Droog’s Milan presentation of Hotel Droog* in 2002. Less+More is not limited to Droog but includes the social and cultural backdrop against which the company operates.
The title refers first of all to the fact that in the Droog collection less and more literally come together in a single product. More generally, it refers to the paradox of the coexistence of less and more that resonates in our modern Western culture. One can see this in the coexistence of numerous contrasts such as the new and the existing, the special and the common, perfection and imperfection, the ugly and the beautiful, illusion and reality.
